My first response to everybody who asks this question is "Did somebody tell you this who has owned Webers?" Usually it's someone who heard it from somebody. Furthermore, the truth is that these carburetors, if set up properly in the beginning, will ... This is purely a function of compression ratio and ignition timing, not induction.
It's important to note that, you donβt need a high compression engine to run these carburetors. As long as the cfm is calculated right, they can be made to work fine even with 8.5:1 pistons. We perform restorations on complete induction units for Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Maseratis like the one shown here. They're not as important on the Weber fuel-injected version, but the Weber carburetors should have a heat shield of some kind at the rear to deflect all that heat from the headers, even if you make a simple shield yourself.
